Hi all,

hope someone has an idea to find the problem with my engine switching off on my XB12.

Bike had an accident last year and after a rebuild it's back on the road but has this strange problem where the engine shuts down while riding it.
I tried ECMSpy but it didn't show any errors.
It never happens while idling on the drive even for a long time.
All I have to do to get it going again is to flick the kill switch off -> on and it starts up again. Guess something in the ECM gets reset doing that, just thought it would show up in the error list????
Need to set up my laptop for logging I guess.

Anyone with suggestions???

If it won't start till you cycle the ignition I would look at the Bank Angle Sensor. In the Configuration tab you can turn this off, that would be the first thing I would do...

Disabled it now, will see how that goes on the way home.

I unplugged the sensor, just to check if it is possible to start the engine (yes, before I changed the setting ).
No difference if it's plugged in or not. I would have expected that the design of the sensor is as such that the ECM "knows" if it's connected or not ?????

On my X1 if you unplug the sensor it leaves the engine warning light on but runs as normal ...didn't try with it disconnected after disabling in ecm spy though.
