thanks for the good will maz,

we were fed a load of bullshit in that we were recieving manchesters stock, revamping, possible new owner, things really looked up and there was a very positive buzz in the dealership monday morning.

The showroom was full, customers were in,

then

20 past 2, REDUNDANT.

feck!

really loved that job too

Shame to see any bike dealer going bust really, we need more bums on seats as the whole bike industry is in decline TBH.

I bought an 883r sportster in 2002 because I liked the look of the bike. It was this bike (that I still own) that got me interested in Buells, so I can't knock Harleys but avoid tassles and chrome like the plague.

Also own a Ducati 916 (lovely)and a Suzuki DRZ400 for off road so maybe I am a bit odd.

I am sure that I am not the only Harley owner that also has a Buell though, and from a sportster that is not sporty enough, to a Buell was the next step for a few people I should imagine (thanks Black Bear). Feel sorry for the guys who may lose their jobs though, but maybe the Harley knocking should stop. Incidently the dealership where I bought my sportster went a couple of years ago (Stadium Harley) who I believe was taken over by a large car dealership, lost the personal touch and people stopped going there. I think people who buy bikes are totally different to someone buying a car, and need a different moe personal approach that big car dealerships do not appreciate.

This is worth a read if you haven't already and are interested in how HD don't understand their brand. If I ever bought a Harley it would be from a deeply grunged barn somewhere in the backwoods - not a High Street polishing shop.

If the Dollar goes down then we are all well and truly Donald Ducked; luxury brands like HD and their satellite franchise'd dealers are a good indication things are messed up big time. Stock up on coal and pick up fire wood of the beach, if you don't live near a beach move.

If any of the Manchester Service Guys are reading this, I would just like to say I'm sorry you've got shafted. You've always been helpful, even found me a replacement gear linkage out of your mechanics stash box and got me back on the road in time for the farmyard. Its shite that its happened but to be honest the last time I was in the shop (I think it was a few days before they closed) I did notice and commented that there was not a lot of stock about.

Take it easy Guys and thanks for all the help over the years

P.

far as I can see Preston is the only local H/D dealer now - not that I have ever been.
