A brilliant and surprising event. Full of good humour and some irony.

Thanks to Adam and Paula for hosting the event.

Thanks to Ian/Greasemonkey and Ange for the bed for the night.

Thanks to Rik for getting Tigs to stop jabbering for a moment: good luck to you both.

Thanks to Steve for the sweetest irony as his bike was loaded into the Mazmobile to be dragged back to the Emporium to be fixed.

As I said a brilliant event!

Shit, Mick..... did that happen far from home?

Sorry if I've missed the tale, I've had log-on difficulties recently.

Mick...

Just noticed the belt....

Probably the result of carrying the weight of your tent... ;)

Hope you didn't have to wait too long to get recovered and hope you get it fixed soon......

Twas good to meet old friends again and put faces to names from the forum that I hadnt met before.
Cant really say much more than has already been said except, congratulations once more to Rik & Tigs, hope you have many happy years together. Ryan you had a lucky escape young man, coulda been old before your time lOl .
Finally a huge Ulster thankye to our unflappable hosts Adam & Paula, you are undoubtably two of the most friendly and genuine folk it has ever been my privelege to meet :worthy: :worthy:

30 miles from home, but on the way up.
My first call was to Maz, to see if he had left yet, then Auntie Carole for the recovery. Luckily, I caught Maz at work and he brought a belt along, thanks Mate. 8-)
What pissed me off, is that it is my favourite ride of the year, for both roads and scenery, so passing the same spot 4 hours later in the car (with the weekend traffic) grated a bit.
19,000 miles from my first (original) belt, 12,000 miles from the new (Improved) Goodyear one.
I'm just glad it didn't happen in Belgium last month. ;)
It didn't spoil my weekend though. I had a great time. :yup:

I was going to say - that looks oddly familiar countryside. I started to think about Steam Fairs and stuff.

Aahhh, just hit home after spending the night at my dear old Dads' house near Aberystwyth.

Another great big thank you to our lovely hosts, Paula and Adam, we had an absolute blast! :worthy:

Another great big congratulations to Rik and Tigs, so glad to be a witness to that one

And a great big hug to all the lovely people we met this weekend. I have just checked my rota and it would appear that I am onshore for next years event too    Fair warning!!!

I was a wee bit disappointed to arrive back home this evening and find that Ursus has not delivered that X1 to me yet. Honestly Steve, Adam needs the space for that 1198, and I can drop you back off at the Emporium to pick up your S1 ;)

Anyway, must be off and feed the chauffeur - the poor old boy needs to keep his strength up

Once again, I'm really surprised at all the thanks for D4; it's the highlight of our year too, and a great way to celebrate the life of our dear Yoffi who touched us with his generosity and friendship in so many ways. Thank you all for making it such a great celebration - without you all, the event would be meaningless 8-)
Both Paula and myself feel deeply honoured to have such good friends :yup:
It's great to have put on a party, where every year, friendships between numerous members of the opposite sex have become far more - next year we hope to stage a live birth lOl lOl lOl

Huge congrats to Tigs and sneaky bastard of the Century, Rick. I had to stand close to him while he was down on one knee in case he fell into the fire

The low level fly past by the Red Arrows over Yoffis tree, was the icing on the cake.

Thankyou everyone 8-)

Sorry to be so late in posting but went to Manchester for an 80th birthday party on Sunday and not been home long.

I owe even more thanks to our hosts than the rest of us :yup: How many people, when you had a problem with your bike, would immediately offer you one of their own fleet. "You could take the 1198R but I need it on Tuesday" 8-) The 2001 X1 was probably a more suitable alternative and I've had a great 250 miles on it - truly a very well sorted motorcycle.

Huge thanks as well to :maz: While putting my tent up I was treated to the usual critical appraisal of my motorcycle by the master and Tom. "Here, your front engine mount's broken." "Yeah, bollocks " "No look here!"

The White Lightning had performed faultlessly on the way there with Mrs Peel, felt okay on the track (major improvement on the track.....thanks for that as well, Adam :yup: ) and even across the field. Of course it could have been the track - "Where there's blame, there's a claim" (don't remember if that was Restone or Richie lOl )

"I've got a plan" says Maz and no irony in this one, Iwoo. Maz had space in the van, he has all the facilities and expertise required to remove studs broken in the head, he has Spondon front engine mounts in stock and he is also the only person to fit a Maz mount to my race exhaust system which he also observed had developed another crack. I'm sure :maz: will point out any other improvements which he would recommend Jon carries out at some time in the future. Anyway Jon's going to be busy sorting my Ulysses which is blowing badly at the exhaust header after my run to Brands Hatch on Friday.

My congratulations also to Rik and Tigs. Being a cynical old married git of 28 years I think I also offered them my commiserations but also said I thought they had a great future ahead of them because I've never known another couple to show so much love to each other as those two do

Thanks to all of you for your company. I have to admit to being such an old stager that I met fewer people for the first time this year than I have in the past but good to meet you and your good ladies, Madrat and Paulalig and also good to chat to a few of your non UKBEG friends, Adam.

Oh yes! Special thanks to Flossy :4roz: My eager anticipation of your chocolate cake was not in vain and I have no remorse about getting to the front of the queue after birthday boy, Steely had made the first incision with his Hobbit blade.

Steve
