I can pick up a forcewinder elbow, filter and sock for USD 75. I figure another 25 in mounting bits/hardware: http://www.jpcycles.com/product/4000400
With all that and a separate breather setup for my S1W, will Robert become avuncular? Or am I missing something/should I be wary of the details of the elbow mounting holes?

I am awaiting photos from seller.

Photo of mounting face - I've seen pix of these with that hollowed out area at 7:30 larger. No idea if that matters. Any input?

It`s upside down , the earlier ones had a slightly different "eased " groove which apparently gave it more umph. You may need an adapter if using a mikuni .

AFAIK no adaptor required, certainly wasn't on FUBAR when I went from standard to Rooney

That's an early version and JL had loadsa legal shit over it.......basically the design/machining of the float chamber vent/port caused a vacuum in the CV float chamber which resulted in a weak mixture......a few bikes suffered associated melt downs etc.
Fix is easy enough though, just needs a bit of grinding to reduce the venturi effect ;)

Didn't know the original would work. I'll have to have a peep behind the Kuryakyn HyperPOS that's on there now to see wot I got. Original owner put the Chrome Kuryakyn on, and set the flaps to be full-time wide open. So it breathes well, just looks a dog's petit dejeuner.

Grind it out, to be like this?
If I don't get a mounting hardware kit, I will probably at least need a gasket for it (modified, to clear that ground-out vent area). Otherwise, just see what mounting hardware I have, and find stuff to work it out if the bits now on the bike won't work.

by the way, stock CV carb (so deffo need to grind out the vent area). Mikuni on the S2T.
