Just picked up a used 27 tooth gearbox pully off an X1

Any hints or tips on swapping them over?

I'm guessing the pully nut will be a swine to get undone

Pulley nut is a left hand thread. Electric impact wrench does the job nicely, belt on and back brake applied however rumor has it that with one of these tools you can loosen the nut holding the sprocket with a gloved hand. The letter of the law says you must use a new pulley nut on reassembly.

I had my first X1 in 1999 converted to US gearing by the dealer at the point of sale and much prefer the standard UK / European gearing on my current 2000 X1 ( aside from the stupidly high 1st gear which requires clutch slipping up to about 15 mph in slow traffic ).

Exactly that, I am considering US gearing as i'm in Spain and there are 20KM/H limits!
