Looks like a genuine, unmolested standard bike.

Apart from the engine sprocket retaining nut, are there any other recalls on this model?
It's registered after April, so I assume the DDFI calibration didn't need doing?
Was there a shock recall on this one?
What would be involved in swapping this to a carb?

TIA,
Mick.

Its a 2001, should have all recalls done ... that's a nice looking bike. If it has the standard exhaust, speak to Albert :yup:

The FI on the X1 is very good, why would you want to swap :?

Thanks for the reply.
Why would I want to swap FI for a carb?
I like things I can take apart, put back together, and it works. :)
I have a fear of little black plastic boxes! :oooops:

On the other hand, if it works well, then I wouldn't touch it.

I can't see the link, but I thought the 2001 X1 was the only Buell with no recalls...

You'll know if it stops working - esp in Mallorca.

I've dropped the Guy a mail.
If I don't hear anything by the morning, I'll call.
Can anyone recommend somone who could pick it up, it's in Wrexham, and deliver to Tamworth staffs?
I want to see if he'll do it first though.
I fancey a punt without viewing.......am I crazey?

I bought the CCM unseen, had a good feeling for it after a phone call, and it was a minter. 8-) Maybe I'll be lucky again! lOl

Mick, I'm a 'Black box phobic' too lOl but I've several Buells, some are carbed, some FI. You can reset the TPS very easily with just a lap top - if I can do it, you certainly can. (There are many here who'd vouch for me as a IT retard lOl) Seriously, the FI works very well, it really won't be a problem.
I live near Oswestry, very close to Wrexham, so if you need to borrow a bike trailer, I've got one you could loan :yup:
I may know that bike :? ask if it's ever been owned by someone called Sian :?: ;)

Hi Adam,
Thanks very much for the kind offer of a trailer. :yup:
If the FI is good as it seems from the comments here, then I wouldn't mess with it.
I set the TPS on my CCM with a multi meter! :) But that was the way the book said, but that also had a carb. For me swapping jets and doing a plug chop is easier than messing with a lap top! :old:
If it's the bike you think it is, has it had a good life? I have a good feeling for it.
It would be a shame to miss a good un for the sake of not being able to get over untill the end of January.
I like the colour too.
I'll have to wait and see what the fellow says.

Cheers,
Mick.

Well, it looks like I just got myself an X1!

I just have to wait and see if it turns up.
The fellow decided he didn't want a depost as intitially requested, afer we had a nice long chat today.
So hopefully his word's as good as mine.

Now, cant wait to start cutting! Does anyone have a set of springers they want to sell?
