When riding home last night the engine light came on and remained so for the journey.
The reported engine temperature was either -25 or -26 degrees or the same without the minus symbol.

This morning the bike had difficulties starting but when it did the same errors.

I used the diagnostic buttons to show internal system error P0113.

Any clues, ideas, etc.?

My first thought was too liberal a spray of ACF at the weekend perhaps covering a sensor but unsure where it is.

I've sent an email to Riders but any help appreciated.

slack joint or chafed/broken wire inside the temperature sensor harness?

3 miles from work the engine light went out and the temperature on the bike was reported as -17.
Turned off bike, turned back on and 26 degrees with light once again.

PMSL!

Intake temp. sensor high or open.

Sensor is located in the mouth of the intake snorkel under the bottom yoke.

I had a look. I'm assuming it's the little round plughole looking item.
It's full of crap and muck and all sorts of rubbish from the past few rides and possibly directly in the line of my liberal ACF spraying.

I really need to have this thing up on a bench, taken apart and cleaned throughout but don't have the resources.

I will try to clean it at lunchtime with a wet cloth and remove as much of the rubbish I can.

Should be able to pull it out of the grommet to clean it. But somehow I don't think that is the problem...

Tried to clean it as best as possible. Probably not as good as I could though.
There is lots of muck and stuff to clean. Got through a couple of jay-clothes. That's winter for you I guess.
Alas it didn't make much difference.

The light went out, during the ride home and the temperature reading was -17 degrees. However as I got nearer to home, the light came back and the temperature reading went back to 26 degrees.

I suspect it may be broken and needs replacing rather than cleaning but will try to do so as best as I can to see if it helps.

How will cleaning the sensor fix a broken wire or a loose connection?

It may just be covered in grime preventing it from working.
But if it's broken, so be it. I'll find out when I've tried

Pash posted some info on the difference to the fuel map that the IAT makes depending on temperature - it wasn't a lot IIRC so it will probably be ok to keep running it.

The IAT sensor part number is P0138.K and isn't expensive (surprisingly !) so if I were you then I would replace it -

I had mine replaced under warrenty as it was switching between -12 and 26c

Trying to book into Riders for the work to be done.
Light on the dash comes and goes when it pleases now. Temperature reading between -17 and 26.
Bike riding nicely despite the weird readings, although badly in need of some soap and sponge work

I know it not a 1125 but:-

On my Uly - The cooling fan was sounding dodgy so I gave it a good spray with WD40. next news my O2 sensor (which is behind it) is bolloxed
