There have been lots of stories of bikes supposedly having recalls done according to the harley site but which hadn't been done in reality ........rumours were than some of it was caused by unscrupilous dealers claiming they'd done work which they hadn't ;)

It does look a lovely bike and it should get a good price. Well worth getting and upgrading what you want as and when you can. Is it V2bul's?
interestingly the price is going up quite quckly well before the end of the auction :yup:

Doesn't the style of shock depend on when the recall was done? The first ones got the longer shock instead of the WP original and didn't get the subsequent shorter shock?

The first recall ones were then decided to be weak so a lot were issued with the SRP (shock reinforcement package) ....this was a stop gap until the final Showa shock was used.
That look s like a shock that should at least have had the SRP bolted to it ;)

Yeah thats what I thought but my bike didn't have the SRP fitted, but was only missing 2 recalls, indicator flasher and tank retaining upgrade according to the Harley database. It might have had the SRP fitted but previous owner might have taken it off as it looked dreadful?

If White Power was replaced with the first Showa it will show as recall completed. Recall was never issued for recalled shocks only for machines which would have had the long boss Showa fitted as standard.

Looks like it's maybe got the newer style rear isolators

Still a nice bike though :)

I thought about £4k I reckon the reserve would have been £4.5. Seems a bit much really but then again after the little blat around on Sunday in the sunshine down to the SS Great Britain with a fly past of Mr Pashleys house (he wasn't in) I would say a nice S1 is worth every penny.

finding a nice unspoiled s1 with some of the nice upgrades you would want to fit any way, even if you can find them and usually you can,t ,the price people would seek for said parts make some bikes that little bit more attractive to potential buyers ,if we could turn the clocks back i would buy all those parts that are no longer available from the dealers and stash them ,

Just about all of those parts are readily available and many of the desirable bits are aftermarket anyway........AST, Free Spirits, Spondon440, Albert666, :maz: (collection only)

Nobby will fix you up with most of them........and anything we can't help with you will secure through a PM on here. Great place this forum :yup:

And I think the consensus of opinion was that it was being bid up by his mates etc. That carbon fibre show firebolt is back up as well.

Just say no to Buells going to the chopper mob. £5k is too much but it could be rescued but would need to be a lot less than what he wants.
