Hi folks,

I have done a search which came up blank.

What is the best way of lowering ride height an inch or so, please?

Front I know, just drop the stancions through the yokes, but is the best way to lower the rear a shorter build shock, or is it linkage length?

Nige. :?

A shock off an XB12SCG or an AST which can be made to any length (and adjustable ride hight) you want...

And take the stopper rings off the top of the fork tube, otherwise you will not be able to push the forks through the top yoke...

I narrowed the seat for Mrs Adam (5'4'') when she owned a XB, and that worked well.
Personally, I really wouldn't fuck about with the geometry of a XB. They steer well and are pretty stable when set up as Erik intended, altering stuff could end in tears. I could well be wrong about this.

Well, thanks for the contributions, folks, they are much appreciated.

Thanks for that mood lightenener, Jill. It did actually make me LOL. :4roz:

Rework the seat???
It is a Firebolt. It has all the plush luxury accomodation of a drag bike.

I am not intending to alter the geometry of the plot, Adam, more adjusting the altitude setting. ;)
Anything I lower at one end I shall do the equivalent at the other.
I have done this successfully in the past with a few bikes.
Most notably a Triumph T309 Speed Triple.
It is still a big, solid, top heavy lump, but it is now flying at lower altitude.

Would a rear shock from an 1125 be a viable option, I wonder.

From the photos of a few on ebay they look shorter.

Anyone know?
