I've just re-oiled my XB's K&N air filter. The cleaning and re-oiling kit is quite specific about how to clean and re-oil except the spray oil tin is not as easy to regulate according to the instructions; " spray each vane once only from a distance of 3 inches...". Except the spray must cover several vanes at once.
"Do not over oil........if you do the filter must be washed and dried again before re-oiling!".
Yikes, like wait another week for it to dry naturally without a fan?
Basically the filter must be wet, but not dripping after 20 minutes. If so it is still runny you've overdone it.
Well I gave it a good spray, but it was not as wet as when I first took it out of the box........four years ago!
First good run of spring today and mpg was up to 64mpg over 157 miles when I usually get 60, so maybe the filter is a bit too dry.
What is the experience of others on here. Or do you just give it a good soaking and worry ye not?
