To celebrate our 1997 S1 Lightning's 15th birthday on Sunday 20th May we're planning to ride the John O'Groats to Land's End route over 2 days, Saturday/Sunday, 19th/20th May.

Using the *2009 UKBEG Buell Challenge as a template we'll cover approximately 1800 miles.

Provisional itinerary:
17th May - Thursday night - Jedburgh.
18th May - Friday night - John O'Groats.
19th May - Saturday night - Preston.
20th May - Sunday night - Land's End.
21st May - Monday night - Home and an inflatable cushion :P...

Jane will be riding her Guzzi 750 again and I'll be riding the S1. We won't be raising money for any good causes or issuing registration forms, we're keeping it simple, it's purely about riding and having an adventure.

* The very first UKBEG Buell Challenge, held in May 2009, was one of the most successful events we've ever put together.

The topic still exists in the archive showing 45 pages and just short of 28,000 views. For details of that event, including pictures, follow this link which starts at page 40.

Would be nice to have some Buells accompany you en route especially S1's. Should be fairly easy to arrange stopping points due to small tanked S1 and leg stretching breaks.

Leg-stretching breaks are the least of CJ's worries lOl

I agree, it would be great to see S1s accompanying CJ on this run. :yup:

:hehe: I'll make sure I 'go' before setting off from JOG.

We're looking forwards to using the S1 again on a 'more regular basis' - like more than every two years :D....

Of course, Kev, you'd be most welcome to join us for all or part of the way. Meet you at Scotch Corner as in 2009? :D

We'll arrange our accommodation and firm up our plans in the next few weeks - full details will be posted before the end of March.

FYI A couple of S1/S1WL owners have already expressed an interest in this event.
