Im on the hunt for a ulysses and just seen one on my local gumtree.

MINT 2009 bike, 12k, full lugage, full service history, remus exhaust, guy said it has every extra possible. Im not sure if thats the case or not. He is asking £4750, seems over priced to me so whats the general thoughts on what its. Worth? With few for sale its hard to get a guide price.

The easy answer is that it is worth what anybody will pay for it. Xs and XTs are not sought after by the Germans hence the prices are not particularly high as it is these guys that dictate the demand.

12k miles means it has tripped past the 10k service. Although the people who serviced the bike may have serviced it to the manual direction, this does not include a number of steps of preventative maintenance rightly championed by :maz: . Hence put aside a good few hundred notes for head bearings, wheel bearings, idler pulley bearings and a number of safety checks...

I wouldn't be paying more that 4k for it...

I'm guessing as these bikes don't float, he may struggle to a Maz'd one in his local Gum Tree. Its worth depends on how much you want it, how much you are prepared to pay and how little he is prepared to accept.

Certainly looks good on Gumtree. has the extra screen, bash plate etc, See what he'll accept based on how much interest he's likely to have over there.
Go in as Pash said about 4K and see what he says, or lower and work up to it. It's been advertised 3 times on Gum tree.
Theres an STT on there too I see.

I was chasing a local-ish XB12XT a few weeks back but when I managed to speak to the seller, he mentioned that a German guy had come over and bought it. It looked to be a fine example, 2009 with all the extras too.

A dealer I spoke to mentioned the current fad of replacing the Uly tail with a Lightning tail which is apparently what the Germans are doing (?)

I'm new to the forum so this was the first time I looked at the 'Bomber' (generic name?). Looks fantastic and much in the same league as the crazy Ducati Hypermoto, I imagine.

'Bomber' is just what I called it but by chance I think others do too

My original idea was 'the ultimate v-twin monster-moto'

I had a Uly as I needed something more upright for my back, so this gives me a Uly seating position but a cooler 'lightning' look... And something unique.

8-)
