PostPosted: 04 May 2012 13:06
I am part way through rebuilding my 2004 model XB12s forks and have hit a snag.

According to my parts book the slider bushes are J8140,02A8 and the ones I was supplied with were in a sealed bag with the that part number printed on it.

The ones that arrived are 45.25 OD x 19.75 long but the old ones are 47.25 OD x 14.8 long.

I have checked with the supplier and they confirmed that the part number is correct and are looking in to where the error is.

Has anyone out there had a similar experience or knows what the true part number is?

Cheers

Bob

It look like my bike is actually 05 going on the VIN no. So you were bang on Nick. 8140.03A8 is the next part to get in and try.

Anyone got a 05 parts book for an XB12s?

I am pretty sure all those parts are as X1 and later S3 (and maybe even M2 even though their forks are the other way up), so you may find someone on here will take then off your hands.

If you are in a rush to get bushes and seals and you can't find Buell stuff, may be worth visiting your Honda dealer as these will be common with CBRs etc. with 43mm forks.

Thanks for that Nick. I've been getting the bits and pieces from Black Bear and they said that they would take back anything not used, can't say fairer than that :)
