There was an alarm fitted to my bike when i bought it, that broke and they fitted a new 1, a year later the immobiliser on that 1 broke, so disconnected that, and now recently the alarm sets itself off.....

Not so much that people won't steal it cos it's a buell, more that if they do, no doubt it'll break down in a mile or 2 anyway....

:D

I had an alarm fitted to my Uly.

Drove me nuts.

The cooling fan sets it off, so when you ride anywhere you had to wait 2/3 minutes for the fan to stop before you could arm the alarm.

Also had to set it and then set it to 'passive' mode just to fill up with petrol as it would arm itself automatically after 20 seconds and then go off with the motion of the petrol filling the tank.

And the battery went a couple of times.

And it was so sensitive that I couldn't actually leave it in it's proper mode as it kept going of and pissing off the neighbours, so I had it in passive mode... which is basically like having an immobiliser... which the Uly has factory fitted anyway...

I paid to have it removed.

I'd never have a bike alarm again.

Don't do it.

Spend your money on a good disc lock.

Spend the rest on bike bling!

Good job your username isnt 'lucky' lOl

No insurance .... really ... ? how old are you .. ?!

Alarms are a pain, when people hear them they complain about the noise more than actually going to see whats wrong.

The Trumpet has one and its a POS I cant fart within 100 yards and the feckin thing goes off. invest in a big fat healthy chain and padlock

If these are being nicked from your garage, a large pot of paint balanced over the entrance on a trip wire etc, will provide footprint and tracking evidence ;)
It'll cost the Scrotes, with a bit of luck, a new pair of trainers too lOl
