10000 miles + ................when it was in at BB for some warranty work Jon fitted the updated kit at around the 6000 miles mark even though there was no visable external leak or detectable fluid loss in the reservoir .

My original one leaked at 8500 miles. The revised one is still going strong and has done nearly 18000 miles

My 2008 R is on its third set of seals, my 2010 CR is on its second set - both have less than 10,000 miles on them.

I've already got an Oberon kit in my spares bin, waiting for the next time ...

overpriced cheaply produced leaky clutch slave cylinders seem to be the norm on exotic expensive new motorcycles..my ktm superduke has had its second replacement.
oberon this time.the cost is the same but quality is much higher than the magura item fitted as standard.I am a slow learner :headbang:

Muffin can have a run out tonight :D although the CR is still ridable even with the weep.

Yep, being an 09 model you should be ok to carry on riding, just keep an eye on the fluid level.

Interestingly, the 10 models leaked differently - they seemed to leak internally with no tell tale dribble - and the fluid would just suddenly dissappear, not a gradual loss as the earlier models. I do wonder if HDB had yet another revision to their seals that were different to what was fitted as the update kit, as I have not heard of any of those acting in the same way when they failed ... :?

Well that's the new unit fitted 8-) and what an easy job to do ...........going to go for a proper test ride in a while but initial impression is good as it appears to have made the clutch lighter but more importently has brought the clutch bite point nearer the bars. As any 1125 owner will tell you , the standard bite point isn't until the lever is virtually right out and never felt quite right compared to the X1. Took lots of pics and if i get time will upload a few later 8-)
