Great weekend. The sun shone and the beer was cold. 8-)
Thanks once more to the Twin Power guys and girls for the organisation and the warm welcome. :yup:
Every one of us that attends this event knows that a great deal of hard work goes on before, during and after this weekend to make it what it is. :worthy: :worthy:

Mev won the prize for Best Buell with his immaculate S1 (( 8-) ) and Whitey came 2nd for his S3. :yup:
Needless to say, the french guy that normally wins, came third and fucked off home early. lOl
We were mightily entertained by the band in the evening, with a lovely lead singer. Kev will hopefully post the video, showing that he mastered his zoom function on his camera phone.
Whitey, Richie and I shared the prize for "Last man standing" and got into our tents as it was just getting light.
I rode home with Ray, B and Taffy and as Whitey said, the M25 was like a car park. We filtered through six miles of jammed traffic without losing any mirrors (unlike the bloke on a Pan European, snigger) and went our separate ways past Guildford.
It was B's first time abroad on her bike, so big respect from me. 8-)

All in all, a great weekend with lots of chuckles in great company, so if you are reading this and have thought that you may be missing out on a good time, just book the train next year and do it, it's only £28 return and the piss taking is free. :yup:

Mojo summed it up well, I have just arrived home after staying over with my brother in London. I had to buy him a few beers for loaning me his bike for the weekend. Now I must get the spanners out to fix mine, from now on I'll turn the fuel tap off and fit an inline filter. :oooops: :oooops:

Wot a cracking weekend and a big thanks to our brilliant Belgian hosts. The weather was spot on even though it blew the chairs away at our lunchtime stop at Cassel. Thanks to Blackrag for the pathfinder duties, you need to give your GPS a stern talking to though! Thanks also to Carol for the birthday cake, happy significant birthday :D
I was chuffed to collect the prize for best Buell, especially against Whiteys stunning S3, and great for the Brit contingent who made up a significant element of the party goers :yup: Fingers crossed for another Barbeque summer next year :coat:

As others have said, thanks to all who organised Buell Day 2012.

The main purpose of our trip was to explore Ypres and the surrounding area, with a visit to the Twin-Power BBQ thrown in for good measure. We didn't get to see everything we'd planned to but it's a good excuse to visit the region again - perhaps Buell Day 2013?

Our digs in Kortrijk were great with secure parking for the bikes and very friendly staff. We spent a memorable Friday evening cheering on England against Sweden, accompanied by some very pro-English Belgium fans.

We met Kev, Marina and Ronald on Friday morning at Eurotunnel check-in - it wasn't planned, just a happy coincidence:

Ypres is full of interesting buildings and architecture:

The Cloth Hall - destroyed during WW1 and rebuilt using the original plans and drawings. This building contains the newly reopened 'In Flanders Fields Museum' - highly recommended and a very moving tribute to all who lost their lives between 1914-1918. Web site: http://www.inflandersfields.be/en

Our 'Hairy Biker' moment, a treat from a Ypres patisserie - a chocolate and cream hedgehog :P :P
