UKBEG 9th Em's Day - Buell & Italian Motorcycle Festival, Saturday 21st July 2012.

Location: Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre - details: here

The main details for this years event are shown here - click to enlarge:

One major change for this years event is the fact that there'll be no separate Buell parking - all makes of motorcycle will park in the same area. Only when the main bike park is full will people park on the other side of the control tower. The only possible exception to this is the Vincent Owners Club who may request their own display area.

Accommodation in the East Kirkby area:

The Red Lion, Revesby, 01507 568 665.
Jane and I will be staying here on Friday and Saturday night, 20th/21st.

OMG ..............................I've been made redundant :o lOl ;) lOl like we said the other day Chris ,the Buell numbers are dwindling now so they will be well outnumbered I think this year and of the ones left a lot seem to have lost interest in the social side of UKbeg which is such a shame .....doubt we'll ever see over 100 Buells together in the UK again :(

Nice attitude......may as well not bother turning up then......Emma would be well chuffed

Needless to say, I have strongly held opinions about this but out of respect to both Chris and Jane, I wont trash this thread any further :shut:

We expect that most Buells will park together as usual but it doesn't matter (to us) if they don't. We thought that if everyone, regardless of what machine they arrive on, could park where they want, it would save Kev a lot of hassle and abuse.

Interest in Em's Day is not what it used to be, especially since Buell closed down and although sharing a passion for Buell motorcycles is still the main theme of the event we will probably have more other makes present this year.

This is UKBEG's only fundraising event for Em's Charity in 2012 and we hope as many people as possible can make it.

Well I will be there even if it's not on a Buell this year but I hope to hell that this event continues as I plan to return on a Buell again hopefully within a couple of years. :D

I've said it before and I'll say it again if there is only one event you can attend this year make it this one plus it's all for a good cause. :yup:

Oh and a massive thanks as always to Chris and Jane for organising this.

I'm certainly planing to come, though I haven't sorted the logistics out yet. It's too far for me to ride, that's for sure as I've only managed 80 miles in one day so far, but I'm uneasy leaving my quad trailered up over night in a hotel/b&b car park. Also, what's the usual plan for this viz-a-viz when to turn up/leave. Stay near by the night before and drive home in the afternoon? Drive down on the day and stay over afterwards? Stay over both nights? Any thoughts appreciated.

There's no parking/security issues at the Red Lion where we stay:

The Red Lion, Revesby, 01507 568 665.
Jane and I will be staying here on Friday and Saturday night, 20th/21st.
Details: here

The parking area at the rear of the pub has a large solid gate and is locked up at night. If it's of interest they have at least one room available at this time of writing. The Red Lion is surrounded by lovely countryside and is only 2 miles from the Aviation Centre,

Regarding travel to and from the event - if you've a long distance to cover I would advise staying at least Friday night in the East Kirkby area. The event starts at 10.00 am, with most folk staying until at least 3.30/4.00 pm.

Thanks CJ, that sounds good. Yes I'm about 260 miles away, which is a long, long way for me - roughly 3x further than my longest day's ride since my injury. A car/trailer will be the only way.

And I was already not going to be able to make it because I have to cover other people who will be off site so it leaves us a bit short handed for leading a ride up to East Kirkby from Black Bear.

We have traditionally done this every year for ever and have promoted it both on the forum and by e-mail to our customers so would rather not have to cancel it. Any volunteers who would be prepared to lead the way :?:

Meet at Black Bear at 0900, stuff yourself with doughnuts and coffee then set off at 0930.

Any takers :?:

Steve

Not sure I'm going to be able to make it this year now. :(
Anna's Dad had a heart attack on Friday night so she has gone down to Wales to help look after her Mother who isn't to agile. Long story but she had Leukemia a few years ago and hasn't got much use of her left side and had a fall a couple of weeks ago and broke her right arm and shoulder so now struggles to walk as she uses a stick.

If I am unable to attend I will defo be at Deliverence so will see you all there.
