This is so very common (pretty much standard) on 08 onwards bikes.......the stator harness chaffs on either the cylinder fins or the primary case behind the starter motor.
The fix is dead easy if you catch it soon enough ie. cable tie the harness to the subframe downtube and manipulate the rest of the cables out of harms way.
The other area to watch/fix on these bikes is where the engine harness comes off the cable tray by the rear rockerbox......Buell seem to have gone to a lot of trouble to redesign the harness routing on these bikes but attention to detail at the assembly line is/was very slack and lets the whole process down.....I've even seen a couple of stator harness' trapped behind the starter
