The seat is for a person to rest on .......not to hold them onto the bike

Maybe not with a Buell but a lot of sports bikes had straps across the pillion pad for the pillion to hold onto.
Anyway, I've done it before, I'll do it again and even if it flies off I will not admit I'm wrong

Although, strangely enough, I was looking through SVA regs recently and IIRC the pillion strap was mandatory ...
