I took my bike up to black bear on Saturday nice 20min journey, anyway my engine light was coming on according to Andy its okay as when the remus exhaust it must be something to do with that, the fault read exhaust Valve open exhaust valve closed but said was okay to ride when you look into the cover there is a cable that's not attached to anything any help would be appreciated as I'm not very technical cheers

You can turn the error checking off with ECMSpy or reconnect the motor. It is a little irresponsible of someone to tell you the situation is ok, but what happens if another fault occurs and you ignore the light?

He reckoned a new motor would be 300 quid I don't if the motor is broken or not as you can see the cable in there

These things are the work of the devil.

It's the only thing I'm not happy with on the Multistrada, problem is it's just impossible to keep it clean as it lives behind a heat shield, and the cable and actuator collect dirt & salt.

I'm talking to a pipe bender of this very parish, but what do you tech wizard types have to say about the overall benefits of these bloody valves? (and of the disadvantages of removing them?)

The 'race' ECM that I fitted to my 1198 along with the Termis, disables this valve. I had this fitted from new, so I dunno if it makes any difference or not So, fit Termis (crap build quality and massively over priced) or rip the pipe work off and Parcelfarce it to our resident cardiac surgeon Albert to fit a Stent in its place If you've not seen his pipework first hand, then you're in for a treat

I've got that far, and looked at the online fitting instructions for the Arrow system, which includes a blanking piece to fool the motor into thinking the valve is opening/closing. I know the theory behind the valve, improving low-rev back pressure, but just wondered what folks thought about removing it....

What do people on the Ducati forum say

Try Googling 'Duc EE', it is the most elegant solution I have seen. Allows you to remove everything including the servo.

See, best advice still brims over on the THE Buell forum even when it is not even a Buell.
