Enjoyed the day at Silverstone today, managed to avoid most of the rain on the way home.

Many thanks to CJ for organizing the tickets. Also thanks to the Oakley MC for providing a place to leave my lid.

A great weekend down at Silverstone - exciting racing, impressive thunder and lightning , brilliant hotel, glad we did it despite the mixed weather conditions.

Huge thanks :worthy: to the Oakley MC for inviting us onto their parking area for Sunday, it was a lot better than the rough area we'd been allocated and we were able to store our gear in their marquee.

We'll try and use this Travelodge @ Wootton for future Silverstone events....

I don't really follow WSB these days, but I'd recorded it, and reading Dilligaf's brief comment following race one, decided to watch it when I got home yesterday. Watched all five races, superb stuff. Best was reserved until last, 600 Superstock. Some names to look out for in the future there :yup:

Stay lucky Woody....

I must be the unlucky one, I only had to get to Northampton and got absolutely soaked through on the way home. Good racing though in the early races.

Had a lovely weekend. Thank you CJ and Jane for organising everything as usual, much appreciated. :yup:

Sorry about the parking up Woody. You had disappeared before we could tell you about our plans to park up on the tarmac on the Sunday....much better for riding on. :D

Had great fun camping, the entertainment was...urm....entertaining. lOl

Shame the weather didn't stay dry. It made for interesting racing...and a spectacular lightning display!!

The ride home was rather difficult as within 5 miles of leaving the circuit we were riding in very heavy rain, which continued until just south of Newbury.....not ideal. Took us 2 1/4 hours to get home!!

It was a good weekend at the WSBK.
Silverstone was strangely empty. Many people must have stayed home to watch the Olympics.

The TV camera positions showed a complete circuit of empty grandstands, it didn't pick out those in the new area. I was wondering why they didn't call in the troops again to fill the seating ....

I'm surprised Eurosport didn't feature a certain Yorkshire lass, Jane was frantically waving her England flag at any TV camera she spotted :D....
