Just checking to see if this is still going ahead? Nothing has been mentioned about it so far, and couldn't see anything listed on Sammy Miller Museum website, other than it being a Caterham Ride(drive) In on 19th......

At the moment the forecast for next Sunday looks good :sun: :yup:

I should be back from sea by then but heading off to the Birdfair for the weekend so can't make it. I seemed destined this year to miss all the UKBEG meets

I think that Sammy Millers has run its course....

Much better to have a Buell Meet where something is going on....

http://www.popham-airfield.co.uk/

The SM bike Jumble would have been better the weekend before...

Popham Mega Meet is a really good place to meet up....

At least there are different things to do.

In fact even without the Mega Meet there is still the Cafe an the Aircraft and usually a few bikes around.... Often used as a Bike Meeting place....

Yep, you are right and I am to blame for this clash...

When I put the calendar together last year, I asked CJ for a load of dates for events, we came up with a list. CJ himself said he would be doing less Buell eventing this year and hence to try and keep the social side of UKBEG alive I chose the same date for Sammy Miller's as last year.

The bottom line is that this has not worked. The event used to be used as a warm up for a BBQ at Mrs Peel's, which from the look of the thread is not happening. It also appears to clash with lots of other stuff, which is unfortunate.

I will be going to Sammy's, purely because it will be a good ride out, it is in the diary and it is a good opportunity to meet others who may drop in before heading off to Popham / B&Q / the mother-in-laws.

I would love others to organise events, or at least a place for people to meet with a date, but can this be done before the first week in December to enable me to get the calendars done and shipped out before Christmas? Better than allowing me to put the calendar together with events on then telling me the day before that the event on the calendar has run its course...

:sun: :sun:

I still love you though MadRat :4roz:

I like Sammies , you can meet up for a chat & it has a big bike park
where Buell only parking is sort of enforced ;)
only costs if you want to go in the museum, which is well worth a look TBH
i just can't make it this year :sad1:

Popham costs £6 to get in & is a car boot sale with bike bits in a field TBH

Yep Sammies is OK....

Better if you are fairly local....

However I would sooner attend something where there is some action and Sammies (Sammys?) When there is a Bike Jumble is more appealing to me.

Popham has Displays and Aircraft to wander round or in...

If there was a Buell Stand then Bullers would get in for Free.....

I try to make it an "Event" as I shall be bringing along a Gazebo and Extra Chairs, so as to make a base fer people to flop down and have a drink.... (I do the same on the MCC Testing Trial Venue).

This Popham might be the last that I have a Bike Jumble stand there.. As I have not got much bike stuff left (Tho I do have other gear) and there are no projects on-going at the moment...

However fell free to turn up and flop or chat or dump yer gear in the van.

The MCC and Moonrakers MC usually do.... Expecting a few from the ABR group this year as well...

The more the merrier....

Possibly a Buell Stand next year?
