Maybe a bit of T-Cut on that car door will take most of the scratches out.

With your setup you have the option of running the original 340mm disc with just one radial caliper? Or will the GSXR caliper not fit. Obviously one of the advantages of the radial calipers is with a few spacers and different bolts you can change disc diameter easily.

Yes I can, but to get the caliper off, you need to remove the disc as it is too bulky.

The more I use the S1 the more I get to think that it may not need double discs depending on the weight penalty etc (particularly in the unsprung weight). Be interesting to see what difference the forks make over X1 forks which are very good in my opinion.

I will weigh a GSXR fork and X1 fork tonight to get weights, but I already know the GSXR fork is a lot lighter. It is the Showa evolution.

The additional caliper and disc are obviously heavier than the fork weight loss, but by using the GSXR wheel (which I am not but you plan to do) it may tip the balance.

I am in agreement with you, I certainly don't need double discs the way I ride, I hardly use the front brake, but I was doing it as something to do. And if edd had not dropped round last weekend, I probably would not have moved any further forward with it. But everyone's a winner, cos the forks that were propping SoG up , a brand new set of X1 forks, will be helping sillyb get his bike back on the road...

Yeah but wheel weight needs to be with mounted discs really. Does show to anyone in doubt that the X1 forks are a good upgrade not just for suspension but the weight as well.

What is the weight of the Dymag with the double discs? The GSXR should be around the same or lighter as the carrier was skeletal on the 08+ wheels. Progress is wonderful isn't it. BST carbon wheels next! (not really) I might ask my cousin in Australia to weigh his wheel disc combo on his Aprillia RD350 as he has BST carbon wheels but he might have a tyre mounted.

Stick with billet for the street. Or cast aluminium.
Mag needs to be crack tested, and carbon breaks down with the UV rays, unless you get it clear coated with a UV resistent two pack paint.
Or you paint it full stop. A lot of the carbon masts I see on race sailboats these days are painted for that reason. (The carbon rigging also has a Poliester sleeve to protect it from the UV's)
Pash, take those boy racer stckers off! lOl Oh! hang on.... that car was a Nova was it not?.... lOl
