Any one planning on going to Brighton from the West, along the Sarf Coast / A27, or for the run in down the A23?...
As before, I'll be aiming to get there about 9:30 to have a hearty breakfast whilst watching all the late risers roll in! Won't be hooning along as I will have Junior on pillion, but welcome any suggestions for meet ups along the way...t'would be nice to ride-in as a posse and make some noise...

Hey Rik. I could be up for this, maybe even at that time of the morning. If you don't mind leaving a tad later, could meet you at the top of the motorway about 0830??

That time ok with you too Jill?

Top of which m-way, Kev?
Good place for us would be Emsworth 'services' (Little Chef, Travelodge & Shell fuel) on A27 just east of Havant... What time do you reckon you'd get there?

Speed trials where good today. Got home not that long ago. A few less cars and bike than previous years but was worth it. Shame the 2 buells didn't run today.

Had a fantastic day at Brighton Burn up, what a huge turnout.... massive overload on bikes. Weather was fantastic. Rather pink now, but fortunately not too burnt.

Due to the huge quantity of bikes and very heavy traffic, managed to lose Rik and Max, and Rik's mate Bernie in the traffic on our way into Brighton...never to be seen again...lol. Bumped into Deepsix almost as soon as we had parked up, and spent the rest of the day with him. Hope you and Max had a great day too, Rik.

Thanks Kev, Marina and Deepsix (Tony) for a lovely day. xx

Edit... only downside was to find out that my son's friend, who greeted me as soon as I parked up my bike, had an 'off' on the way home with his friends. Unfortunately collided with a girl friend of his at Sompting traffic lights. Both bikes damaged (unrideable), and she was taken to hospital. Still waiting to hear what actually happened. :(

Was at the Ace for an hour or so having tea and chat with my mate... saw a few Buells but didn't manage to meet any UK-Beggars

Love how much of an eclectic mix of bikes and people were there, though - great to see!

Err yes, the day didn't start out too well, with a salutary lesson in how 'dangerous' our pursuit is..
We'd just pulled in to the Emsworth Services on the A27 and turned to face the road when we saw a bike cartwheeling violently down the carriageway shedding parts each time it hit the deck.... closely followed and mimicked by its hapless jockey... BIG breaths of relief as following traffic stopped before they hit him and more as he rolled over onto his knees and then his feet...incredibly lucky guy...in fact if he'd've been wearing a jacket he probably wouldn't have even grazed his arms...
Bike thankfully was a write-off...though by the looks of it not for the first (or even the second) time.. :rotfl:
Brighton was manic, with the madness starting a mile or so out... it was crazy 'every-man-for-himself' filtering (sorry gals) all the way down from the A27/A23 junction, with desperados cutting in and out from every direction... it made a F1 start straight look calm! Not particulary enjoyable with a young pillion to worry about too.
In fact, Brighton was simply too popular for its own good yesterday... being probably the last day of summer, every man and his dog decided to hit the coast and in addition there was a massive protest march (disgruntled cosseted public employees I think...the only surprise being that the teachers present decided to do it in their own time rather than on a schoolday... )
After a double tour of Madeira Drive, we were somewhat glad to get out and away and escape to the relative peace and breeze of the beautiful Sussex back roads (maybe I is gettin' old) and an ice-cream at Bury Hill... nice to see you again after so long, Garry... and love your X1 :yup:
