It would appear that the instrument console is completely tamperproof. That is why if set in theft mode,with an owner set pin and said owner forgets the pin.You have to throw the IC away and buy a new one.

I'd suggest talking to your local HD dealer,they can obviously "talk" to it in a limited fashion.Otherwise they wouldn't be able to turn the service message off.

I do have a brand new 09 IC in a safe place, :yup:
