Yeah that is the solution I want to try (if I ever get the time and space to work on the bike) I was thinking carbon fibre just for the looks just like the bloke on the LC forum.

Was the tank bubbling in its previous colour? Is it a bad tank?

No, nothing really wrong with it, the adhesive is causing the issues on mine though, I'll keep you posted.

Every tiny bit of paint removed and they reckon to have got the primer coat to set rock hard but it bubbled on the bottom of the tank where there was some paint left, looks like that may at least be part of the problem.

I imagine once most painters have painted a Tuber tank they won't want to do another.

I am pleased with what Ace of Sprays did for me... I might be eating my words when we see what happens with tank number 2...

Did he have to do the tank more than once or did I imagine that whilst tripping on Calpol.

Not Ace of Sprays. Another place painted the last S1W I had and the paint bubbled, so he did it again, this was before I picked it up. It did bubble again.

The Grenade was done by Ace of Sprays. Sure it did bubble under the transfers, but not anywhere else, and where it did bubble, I just pricked it with a pin...

whatever you do I would spare you the pain of contacting John Williams at the Tank shop Scotland for considering his services in making a replacement in Aluminum, have patiently waited over a year now, after various promises have been broken. The final nail in the coffin, (unfortunately not his) is he then fcuks off on some Jolly in Europe to renovate his place in Bulgaria without telling his customers or announcing some statement on his website that he would not be available for 6 mths.
All this found out through tracking down a neighbour, and apparently not the first time he has done it.
Phones him today and its as if it was just another Monday morning, The guy is an enormous story teller when it comes to progress, has expresses no accountability or business ethics. When I try to find out how long do I still have to wait for an end product, he has only made the base to date.

This is probably the one , an other member here told me was the extent of work undertaken until he too got so pissed off, he went and collected his stuff.
Advised to get my stuff in the post today, Lets hope it arrives before the weekend. Not one ounce of remorse, total wanker, no wonder he lives right up in the middle of no where in Scotland.
Totally fcuked my year as he had my tank, petcock etc from my S3
So anyone wishing to send out bad karma today send it his way...
Rant over for the moment,
OH and if I hear the one about the quality of his work I will :headbang:
In fact I have been told by some in the profession, he isn't all that, so still on the lookout for a resolution via replacement tank to the blistering issues we all appear to be facing :sun:

Well Fcuk me, if Mr Williams made tanks as fast as he returns them, then I would be a happy man. My stuff returned exactly as shipped to him 12 mths or so ago, same box, bubble wrapped tank etc, even his conversation to say he had stripped off my paintwork was a figment of his imagination. :?:
Got a message left on my answerphone from him yesterday to thank me for emptying his shelves and keep up the good work, would appear TopGumm your buddy has also requested his stuff back.
My advice is Stay well clear of the The Tank Shop.

I can only assume he has some bad issues going on in his donut and would not know the truth if it punched him in the face.
Perhaps the mantra tank is too difficult for him to actually make lOl
Relieved that a visit to Scotland is no longer on the agenda, :D have also been in contact with another tank maker more local and from initial chat maybe a goer. 8-) will kept members posted, if anyone else is interested in an aliminum replacement Mantra tank :yup: :sun:

Psst, unless there's a special tank for Buddhists, I think you mean Manta lOl
