I need to replace my air filter which is currently a screaming eagle one. This gets in the way and I would like to change it for a round type, HD sportsters seem to have a lot of choice but not the buell, dont want a forcewinder due to cost and Harley Big Bore Intakes refuse to ship one to the UK, even though it states they do on the interweb.

Velocity stack would be better but again prices seem a little high.
What has anyone else done ? Not really up for making one from drain bits either.

cheers !

Forcewinder is really the best /only option... I had the same problem with a round filter that got in the way of my knee... everything on the 'forcewinder' (type) solution is swept ahead of the carburettor/ throttle body inlet, no other filter set-up gives you this narrow forward biased profile.
If you can't make one, you have no option but to cough up the pennies, but they are available off the shelf in this country ...or keep an eye out for a s/h one, they do crop up from time to time. Just bear in mind that your X1 has EFi and hence the elbow is different from the carbed ones... although it can doubtless be adapted.

Elbow is the same, the filter is different cos it needs a hole for the temp sensor.

I stand corrected, Nick. Thought I'd seen some with the IATS in the elbow...maybe a home brewed adaptation for an injected one?

Screws are metric on the X1...

Give Paul a pm I think he has a filter which looks like a forcewinder but isnt, he is normally realistic with prices too
