Not sure if I'm misreading your  , :maz: or whether you meant to do a ;) but Albert's surname is Hawkes. I wondered if PE stood for Performance Exhausts

Of course, I could just be making an arse of myself lOl

At the risk of being contraversial, do TM do a torque hammer for the 1125 ?
Or is that just for the tubers and XB models ?

I quite fancey one myself for the X1, but I don't like that springy front mounting. Too much stress on the headers I think.
The can looks nice though, and I think would be a bit quieter with the baffle than Alberts.
I could be persuaded otherwise though, as I don't think TM will ever get theirs eu homologated, so I'm getting used to the idea of swapping the can every year for the ITV.

They do do one and it came with great claims of 150hp+, however there was an exhaust test carried out by American Sport Bike and it didn't do so well against the competition...

and they look like shite, although they will have a new one soon which will obviously give you around 200bhp and be better looking than anything else

Well why don't you throw me a bone here? I'm also in the market for a can, or even a complete system.
But daft comments about someone elses product like "they're shite" doesn't convince me about your product, especially when I've seen one of your systems go straight back up for sale again because it's too noisey.

There's no real info on your site, expept a lot pictures and the fact that you work from home and build pushbikes.

How about some decibel figures ?
How much extra power does your system make, if any ? (Not that I'm bothered about BS bar stool talk)
Are those X1 headers in one of the photographs 2" or 2 1/2" ? or is there a choice, and if so what's the price difference, and what difference if any, will either make ?
Are you willing to polish out the welds on the headers ?
Is there a choice of finish or coatings ?
Are the cans re-packable ?
What warranty are you giving ?

FWIW I don't think the TM cans look that bad, no worse than any of the other zillion bike cans on the market. They're also top folks to deal with, and I've had very good service from them so far, so give the fellows a break.

As an aside, have you seen the KADOS and WAVE software ? You might find it interesting.
Although I bet it's cheap lOl A bit like when I tried to buy a licence for Solidworks.

Mick, I understand your frustration, but if I were buying an exhaust from somebody I would be asking the current users as to their thoughts.

Just for info, Albert made me some headers for one of my S1 projects, he made what I asked for and I am very pleased with them. As well as the high quality of welding, one further thing of note is that his design of collector is aerodynamically superior to the benchmark Buell Pro-Race system.

I have also spent a significant amount of time on the dyno with him testing his designs.

Feel free to discuss (pressure) wave action simulations.

i didn't say any particular manufacturer was shite, i said one 1125 exhaust looked shite which is just my opinion
my website is no the greatest granted but i do have a day job, a family and buell exhausts to make, the only ones that have been on the dyno are the models i own so i make them, pay for dyno time, have a bit more of a tinker then dyno again, it all comes out of my pocket
the xb straight through made 3bhp at the top end, the reverso gained 5bhp in the mid range, just a stright swap, no fuelling mods etc so more to be had no doubt, both are around 105db
the 1125 gained around 8bhp on avalaughs bike, from 130bhp to 138bhp
battyones bike is currently making 146bhp
the 1125's are loud, around 110db without a baffle, i have a plan for a quieter one but i also have other things in the pipeline,
i haven't dyno'ed an s1 x1 etc as i don't own one, i can make them with the welds polished out but it will cost more, i work on the basis of providing a decent product at a decent price, i'm not overly fussed on how blingy they are, function first, i work in motorsport engineering so that's where i'm coming from,
they are replica's of the race headers as that's what i was asked for, they have a 2 1/2" outlet

the db level on all my exhausts is subjective to the owners, some people say they are too loud even with a baffle, some people say they are too quiet even with the baffle removed
warranty wise, if there is ever a problem just let me know and i'll put it right
all my silencers can be repacked and i can get them ceramic coated for extra£

i think that's about covered it
and besides when is there ever a sensible discussion on ukbeg? ;)

I agree with Al, the Torque Hammer for the 1125 didn't look any better than the stock exhaust, it was not cheap, and I was under the impression that it was only the start of the spending spree for TM parts if you want to make the most of it ...

Take the time to read Al's posts about exhausts, all he does is give people what they want at a reasonable price, and like the rest of us, he is entitled to his own opinion !

That's smashing that :yup: Thanks very much for the info, sorry we seemed to get off on the wrong foot there for a moment! :oooops:
I'll drop you a PM.

Thanks also Pash. We could talk WAVE, but if you're famiiar with it, you'd probably loose me in the first paragraph, as I've only briefly read about it, and I've seen some of the F1 Guys using it. Seriously impressive!
If it was my trade, I'd be into it.
I have more interest in the 3D modelling, but I didn't get very far with that either, apart from some small room reading. I have so much going on, I barely have time for much else in my life right now.
That should change in four years if all goes to plan.
It's not easy to get a licence to use Solidworks as an individual, they're used to dealing with large outfits like Caterpillar (whom I worked for in a previous life) and after getting passed over to the Spanish sales team, I got frustrated and let it drop.
I'll chase it up again when I get chance to seriously upgrade my PC.

Any way, appologies to the OP for taking the thread off topic! :coat:
Good luck with your search.
