Fell over (drunk) and cracked a few ribs a few days ago so this could be the cocodamol or the cans of Boddies talking but - just spotted a low mileage 1125R for sale and it occured to me that I could chop in my XB12X and come away with another reason to get out of bed in the morning for not a lot of extra cash.
Question is, what's the difference? Had an XB12R for a while and loved it. A lot of the 1125R looks similar except, of course, the motor.
I like the torque and sound of the XB lump and rate its tall geared, low revving quality. Not an easy rider nut by any means and enjoy the hard line acceleration to the red line. How does the Rotax lump compare? Anyone out there tried both? What do you think?

The Rotax engine is a totally different different beast compared to the XB lump, as Adam once put it, more of a torque line (rather than a curve) up to the red line of 10,500. And it prefers to be revved, doesn't like to be used below 3,000 in anything except first and second. But mine does pull smoothly in the higher gears, up to the rev limit.

Oh, and illegal speeds creep up on you without warning, so you will need to keep a check on your throttle hand if you want to keep your license.

Haven't looked back since I went to the dark side and got an M2.

Clearly the 1125R is just gonna get me in trouble. I found it difficult enough to behave on the Firebolt and, truth be told, I doubt I could do justice to the extra performance of the 1125R.
The 2001 X1 mantra was not unexpected Maz. The end of the line is usually the best of the bunch so I may just take another look. In the meantime, I'll stick with what I've got.
Thanks gents :)
