A depressing lack of use has forced me to the conclusion that my motorcycle days are over, so I've decided to sell my XB12S. I just don't have time to ride the thing, so perhaps someone would like to give it a home. In days gone by I enjoyed road trips in Europe, but life/work/other hobbies prevents me doing that now, and commuting by bike doesn't really fit very well with me either, so it's going to go.
It's a bog standard 2003 (53 plate) XB12S Lightning, in red, gold wheels. FSH, MOT until July, tax runs out the end of this month. I'm the second owner although V5 show three owners as it was pre-owned by Harley Davidson in Oxford. Almost new standard exhaust, tyres are good (front brand new). Two keys, all documents plus a genuine Buell workshop manual.
Mechanically sound but cosmetically it is need of a little TLC. The paint is lifting from the wheels (rear is worse) and there is a little bit of silver paint blistering on the fork yokes and tail light assembly.
The big 'nasty' though is the dent in the LH side of the frame, just behind the pointy bit. Not a big dent but it's not repairable, and as far as I know frames are no longer available.
Two bits of better news, the dent is cosmetic only (previous owner had the bike checked by a Buell/Harley dealer - pressure test I think), and it was declared straight and sound. Secondly, both sides of the frame have been fitted with Craig Jones carbon frame protectors (doh!) which completely cover and mask the damaged area. Completely invisible.
Really don't know how to value this bike, as the dent takes a large amount of its value away, but would there be any interest at £2500/£2000? Or would someone like to make me an offer?
I can take photos and email over, or the bike is available to view at any time Oxford/Aylesbury area.
Anyone?
Cheers
