Complete waste of dosh IMO as no matter what oil you use it needs changing every 2.5K anyway.......just stick to good old H-D 20/50 mineral :idea:

Willy do you not think that car lube 15/40 may have been part of the reason why the oil pump gear gave up?

Oil is the life-blood of any engine. Manufacturers devote considerable time and money before deciding the right grade. :old:
Why people then think it wise to go away from the manufacturer's specification, or use a cheap alternative (when the recommended make and grade isn't expensive), or extend the change intervals escapes me... even in an old banger of a car.
All the more so with a air-cooled Buell. :headbang:
