Does anyone know if it is feasible to fit xb front end to a 2000 x1. ie. forks, wheel, brake and disc.? These items are on ebay at moment. Maz wots your thoughts ?? Would the mod be worthwhile if it could be done?

Value you comment Maz. Probably better to spend the dosh on an A S T shock instead . It was just a thought.

I would rather go the other way - put an X1 front end on an XB, the perimeter brake seems to be more trouble than its worth ...

It's done a few times before ,so it is possible!
why not just doing it ,it's your buell right!?

I think that those tubers look way better with the xb wheels!
and hear and reed more of ratteling brake disks than trouble with the pirimeter brake stuff. so:?

Mate of mine has done it on his S1. Made the steering a little tighter but its possible and looks good in my opinion.

Each to their own

An ASB shock is arguably THE best thing you could ever bolt on to a Buell.

One thing I've not been able to do with a XB front end is trail brake into a bend (beardy IAM/Hendon types look away now lOl ) like you can with a conventional brake set up. Weirdly, Erik seems to have taken this on board, since the 1125 is significanly better at doing this than the XB is :?
A well set up X1 brake is all you'll ever need 8-)

I agree with not being able to trail brake on the xb, but the front end is very forgiving. I've had to grab the brake mid corner on a track day when someone who was going wide decided to pull back in, just as I was going underneath. A chirrup from the front tyre as it sat up, but still got me through the corner somehow. Can't see many other bikes doing that ....

I raced an X1 for 2 seasons and trail braking sucked. The XB in the same circumstances isn't any worse. After a bit, I became confident the old girl could just be leaned more and that I didn't have to trail brake so deep any more, just carry the speed through. Turns out the bike was better than me.

But I agree the perimeter brake is more trouble than it's worth.
