 Post subject: Exhaust valve question

As I'm dismantling the bike to fit a new exhaust system I thought I'd remove the exhaust valve cable that's been dangling redundantly for the last 6 years. How about the unit itself, and the wiring to it :?: Can I remove all that as well, or do the wires also do other important stuff :?:

You can take the wires off too but if you don't disable the error checking in the ECM the broken engine light will come on.

Only three of the four connections in the ECM's diagnostic port are active. Transmit (pin 3), Receive (pin 1) and Ground (pin 2). The numbers are engraved on the back of the Deutsch connector.


Aaargh :o Does anyone sell ready made cables :?: If I try to do that myself I'll probably have more problems with the cable than the software lOl

Thanks for the links Dr B :yup: I have already sourced a cable thanks :!: However, reading the blurb on the Trojan site, it says you don't need to do anything if you have the race ECM fitted, which I do lOl

Anyway, I'd still like to get to grips with the software :P
