Unfortunately last year there were only a handful of people who turned up... :(

Maybe this is another event which might do better if it were every other year, alternated with another event at a different venue?? Just a suggestion.... :yup:

I agree Kev.....just wish more people supported these events. :yup:

I only reason I made the suggestion about holding the event alternate years with another event, was to try and boost interest in these meet ups. :D

This event replaced the Brooklands meet.

Not sure if I'll be there yet - partly depends on the weather and partly on the wife ... :coat:

I have it very much in mind, but for me it depends on the weather and how much salt remains on the road... so perhaps it's still too early in the 'season' for some of us?

March 17th, Sunday.
UKBEG Buell Meet - RAF Museum, Hendon, London.
Web site: http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/london
Organised/suggested by Nick (Pash)

We're in Mablethorpe this coming weekend - as per this topic.

Sunday's RAF Hendon meet was shown on Nick's UKBEG calendar so I copied it into this forums 2013 Events Diary. Our last involvement with this particular event was March 2011.

If you're into all things aviation and never been before you'll certainly enjoy a visit - it's a brilliant place.

RAF Hendon replaced Brooklands as UKBEG's Spring London area meet about 4 or 5 years ago. Brooklands was an ideal location and proved very successful with lots of interest and large numbers of Buells attending. I think we reached 60+ Buells on one occasion.

We made the change to RAF Hendon because in addition to ever increasing admission fees Brooklands introduced a strict Health & Safety policy which meant Jane and I had to complete risk assessment forms and pay a £100 deposit upfront against the event being cancelled etc. We were willing to do this for a couple of years but eventually we came to the conclusion that it wasn't worth the risk. RAF Hendon offers free admission to the museum but charges for car parking*. When we last organised a UKBEG meet there in 2011 they tried to insist that we pay the same fee to park our motorcycles. In the end common sense prevailed and they let us park in a separate area free of charge.

* 0-3 Hours - £2.50 per car. 3-6 Hours - £3.50 per car.

Kev, if you used the X1 for last years Hendon meet perhaps they found your gas mask and loud exhaust too intimidating and were too afraid to ask for any money :D ....
