Robin's been round for the day, and told me UKBEG was still on the go, so I thought I'd drop in and see if there was any news I'd missed ..... there wasn't

For the couple of you who don't do Facebook, that's where all the discussion has been taking place since February.

So, if you're going, and even if you've been in the Facebook Diggertours group lately, please drop me an email to johncbrown55@gmail.com to let me know you're definitely on. I have a spreadsheet I created at the back end of last year with all of the confirmed and possibles, but I need to compare the list with the hotel to make sure we're not holding onto rooms we don't need.

Itinerary is all prepared, we'll have a busy week of racing & riding, but as I said to Robin today I no longer need a week's escape once a year as I've escaped permanently, so won't be doing any more formally-organised trips after this year.

Can some locals join in the fun? We have a couple of Ullys and you ride past my home on route from Dublin to the hotel. Speaking of which exactly where are you all staying? If you want some local knowledge of great roads then I would be happy to assist. I would really like to meet up with you guys.

We're staying at the Chimney Corner Hotel. Most of us are unlikely to pass your door because we're crossing from Stranraer to Larne although I'm sure Restone and probably Adam will be crossing via Dublin.

Just e-mailed Digger to make my apologies I had hoped to have my treatment this coming weekend which would have meant that I might have just about been in a fit state to travel by the time we set off.

Sadly I'm now scheduled to be admitted to hospital an hour and a half after the ferry sails. Have a drink for me on the way and plenty more when you get there

Didn't even consider delaying the treatment because this way I hope to live to do plenty more trips away

Was able to cancel my ferry crossing with just a nominal admin charge....thankyou, Nutt Travel

Didn't have to pay a deposit for the hotel but would like to give them as much notice as possible to allow them to fill the vacancy.

However, Digger has suggested checking here first to see if anyone else wants to take up the opportunity. Diggertours are superb events and you won't find a better group of people to travel with to experience Irish Road Racing and the Emerald Isle.

Let me know through the forum by midnight on Thursday if you want to take my single room (it might actually be a double ) or I will call them to cancel on Friday.
