Does a Lightning strike have thunderstorm heads or is that just on the White Lightning?

That's a lovely looking bike but I've already got an S1.
Not a bad price now either. :)

What is the service history on it?
What condition is it in, photos look good but any rust, scratches, marks etc?
How does it run?
Have you had any problems with it?
Might be interested :)

Hi Garry, I'll check service history when I get home from work. Its average condition for age, a few minor marks and scratches. There's a small crack in the seat unit that was there when I got the bike 8 years ago, that's never got worse. It has rust on top of the swinging arm. I was planning to look out for the later alloy type to fit, so haven't done anything about it. As I've said, the decals have bubbled. I've changed the oil and filter regularly, and fitted new plugs and a battery last week. Maz fitted the uprated primary chain tensioner and race ECU. While he had it I asked him to listen to the top end as I thought it sounded tappety, but he said it was normal. I've never had a problem with the bike and its never let me down, it runs great. I just feel now's the time to move it on. For a variety of reasons I don't get chance to ride it, I've only done a couple of hundred miles on it in the last 3 years

Update on service history. Last stamp in the book was the 7500 mile service, which was carried out in April 2004 when the bike had done 5,440 miles. So the 10,000 miler is now due. I've changed the oil and filter every 1000 miles and fitted new front pads when I put the new front disc and braided rear hose on, less than 1000 miles ago. It passed its MOT 2 weeks ago with no adviseries

So, for the last 9 years it has only ever been owner serviced?
And a major service is due now?
Is £3,800 the lowest you'll go? :)

Hi Gary, yes, yes and definitely yes. But in the last 9 years its only done 5,000 miles, I've got the old MOTs to prove the mileage

That's one of the cheapest S1's I've seen for a long time....also one of the nicest :yup:

If I was in the market I'd snap your hand off.....But I'm not.....so I can't.....But I'm sure someone will!

Pro Race exhaust, revised gear change, revised tensioner...

If it hangs around much longer, I might be biting Bob's hand off...

S1 market is more than a bit flat at the moment. But X1s are on the up look at the glitter flake one on ebay thats going to go for more than £3600 I bet. I think most people prefer the white lightning and even Pash's old one has only just attracted some bids now it has lowered to £4000.

Get an XB instead they are offering real value for money at the moment :rotfl:
