Maz,

I really don't need to go had to head with you on this. I don't see that either of us will 'win' and I am not convinved that anything meaningful will come out of the debate.

I have hit 95 a few times and at that moment the whole bike squats and - for want of a better term - becomes alive. I don't get there often but it is worth it for the times that I do. (That feeling when the whole bike just comes together and all starts working as one is wrth having, no matter how rarely it happens,)

"Real performance" doesn't interest me - I am not a good enough rider to get the max out of the proper high performance options available.

I am not even going to begin explaining the reasons behind why I built the bike I did, but in earnest seriousness it saddens me to see you taking a negative view towards anyone that takes a Buell and uses it to build the bike they want to own. I know that you do not believe that all Buells were perfect when they left the factory - or all the "Maz mods" would not exist. If we are living in a world where the only allowable mods are "Maz approved" then that is a smaller and more narrow minded world than the one I want to inhabit.

IMO, the whole point of any bike is to be the bike the rider wants it to be (I can't understand the scooter mob, but I accept their ight to ride the bike that they want to).

As I implied earler, we have a fundamental difference of opinion here, so there is no mileage in pursuing this further here. You have a view, I have a different view - that is actually a good thing.

Dave

Fair play Dave, TBH I really couldn't give a shit....at least you didn't turn it into a 'chopper'....but might as well have done IMO
'Maz mods' only address weaknesses bourne out of factory builds/designs due to financial constraints/compromises.......as you already know, I'm basically a purist and believe that Eriks original vision was sound, I just build Buells the way Erik would have if he was free to do so :)

Merv,

Just cheap and nasty fibreglass.

IIRC the 'headline' price worked out at about £850 - but then there's shipping and import duty on top.

No bids. Maybe too high a starting price.

It looks nicer than that hideously blinged up X1 though.

But at least that has a small start price. If he offered it at a no reserve auction then the market would decide its true worth.

I quite like it but not for that kind of cash.

Yeap just like lots of pre 65 trials bikes with super high start prices and the phrase I don't need to sell this. They seem to spend a lot of time trying to sell them though.

So does anyone make replacement/replica or other after market plastics/fibreglass parts for buells here in UK, or is it all shipped over?
