We've had a brilliant day at Donington. Their Classic Festival just gets better, with a great mix of CRMC racing and some very rare Grand Prix motorcycles both on show and demonstrated on the circuit.
We managed to meet up with Spen and spent some time with him before taking in the rest of the event.
The star of the day was undoubtedly the Britten V1000 - a stunning machine and beautifully engineered. Unfortunately it wasn't on the circuit today but it should be demonstrated tomorrow at around 2.50 - 3.00pm. Most other classic GP machines were out on the circuit, including the Guzzi V8 and three Honda sixes - what a glorious sound!
Just to make the day complete, the BBMF Lancaster, Spitfire and Hurricane performed three very low flypasts early in the afternoon. This was totally unexpected but very welcome - classic aircraft and classic motorcycles, you can't beat it
