I'd say the price was... fair but not good. I'd try for under £3k. If you look at the enlarged version of his last 2 pics, there are no tank accents and it's on the standard VW sound-alike pipe.

US gearing... don't start that one again. It depends how and where you ride. Most here love it, I fecking hate it.

Ta Muchly.

How much would I need to budget for a better exhaust? Would I need to re-map the ECU again, and is the 17000 miles ok?

ECU shouldn't need a re-map. The only exhausts to have are the Buell full race kit or the Vance & Hines. They will be second hand so £500-£700 for the former, probably £300 for the latter, depending on the dependencies.

17k miles is fine, although budget £600+ for the 10k service in another 3,000 miles.

Not at all, your X1 was the dogs bollox before you stripped off all the good stuff :(

Trouble is, you'll probably get more for the bike and the good stuff seperately but whoever buys the bike as it is now will spend at least as much again as you're asking to get it back to what it was.

In short, what I'm saying is that your original asking price was a chuffin bargain but the cabbages out there want a cheap bike.....tis only once they've got it that they start to do a bit of research and then realise that it's gonna cost double what they paid to get to anywhere near the spec that the bike was in before you decided to sell/strip it :x

.....and yes, it's a fact that any X1 built after sept. 01 was built from left over parts

I'm not too sure what Maz's comments mean ...
Ducati are famed for the parts bin approach to launching "special models" - it doesn't automatically devalue them!
