I can't say I've ever ridden a cafe style bike that handled as well as the bike they started with.
I can be nostalgiac about many things. I like vacuum tubes and vinyl, big block t-buckets and muscle cars and '20s and '30s auto sheet metal work, chicks in leather mini skirts with 80s big hair...
But I do not miss the ill handling motorcycles of yesteryear one bit. I think my disdain for the look of cafe style racers has much to do with their association with crappy ride quality, poor reliability and oil on the garage floor.
I can only admire it from a historical POV and the technical progression at that point through the years.
