It might be worth looking into using Amercian gearing, 27T on front pulley and 61T for the rear as it does make the bike more practical to ride but the speedo reading will be out so you will need to use US spec speedo or get speedo healer to calibrated instead.

Thanks for that.

In the meantime, cosmetic improvement stuff on existing parts include header pipe which was ingrained with years of burnt crud.

My local stainless exhaust guy took a look and gave me a freeby tub of sulphuric acid jelly.
His advice..... " brush on , leave 24 hours and scour pad off. Dont get it on your hands otherwise your skin will go yellow for 3 weeks and if you get it in your eyes, it will be sore " .......

Result came up quite well. Top pipe has dents from drops, crashes etc, so will see if can weld in new infill and re-polish or cut section out and replace .

Header looks great. Didn't know it was possible to clean it up that well.

RE dents... fill header with water and put in freezer. This is how 2 stroke riders have been popping out the dents in their expansion chambers for years.

New oil tank made up for the new rear sub frame. Will take existing rubber mount threads and intakes. The hole on top is for the original tank bung. Now a big polish job.

Petrol Tank refurb. The year 2000 Buell stickers come off real easy ...the difficult bit is they leave the adhesive behind...which exercises the thumbs a bit to push it off ( a bit like a mini carpet rolling it up off the floor )

There were a few deep scuffs from previous owners dropping it and the seat wearing a groove thru the deep filler right thru to the plastic. But Isopon helped bring back a smooth surface.
