Post subject: Slow to return to idle
PostPosted: 07 Oct 2013 19:01
My 2002 XB9R seems to have NO engine braking whatsoever. It's not the clutch as it still pulls like a train, has a nice steady idle and no misfire. Riding in traffic has become a matter of using the throttle or the front brake more than usual. Does any one have some idea or have had this happen with theirs?

Starts and idles just fine and rides normally. It just takes a long time to slow down when riding with a closed throttle.

I would first check all sensors for correct values, throttle butterfly for free movement, throttle valve shaft and intake manifold for air leaks, then, if no error is found, I would proceed with this: viewtopic.php?f=17&t=13802 using a very low (~30-40%) deceleration correction.
