My X1 won't start it's been nearly 4 weeks the longest I have not used it from owning it, It is a hard starter in the winter months normally but always starts with battery plugged into optimax. Not now though, it does fire every 2nd cycle but not enough to start. I have also noticed the oil in the tank seems lower than usual, it doesn't use much at all and was ok last time I checked. Is there any possibility it may have drained back into the sump while stood !!!!. Bike is kept in garage average temp is 10'C so not even that cold. Also have a m2 with no starting problems that I haven't used for long periods and keeps same oil level in tank.

What was the last thing you did to the bike?

Are the plugs dry and clean?

Fuel pump? Maz will recondition yours for you.

Fairly standard for an X1.......when left stood for a while the fuel line and filter empty themselves, when you try and start the bike the injectors get an aerated fuel supply which wets the plugs........the trick is to cycle the ignition a few times to prime the system before turning the engine over.
Fit new plugs and try again.
Wet sumping is very common when bikes have been stood a while.

Hopefully getting home to the frozen Northern Hemisphere this weekend so will bear that in mind when I try to start the X1. Not looking forward to degF temps the same as degC temps there are here at the moment :(
