The quality of the tank is the best, the lower seam is welded and can be seen, I won't be removing any weld and wouldn't recommend anyone else did, you'll undermine the integrity of the tank.

The tank is a very close replica of the original, as close as possible within the constraints manufacturing an item from aluminium as opposed to moulding it.

Tony Holt is an extremely talented fabricator.

I was asked so I will post the information here so its there if anyone wants it.

I had my tank prepared to accept a standard fuel tap but always intended to fit a Pingel fuel tap, the information for this is as follows:

Pingel 1311-CH Power-Flo Gas Valve 22MM, Outlet Facing Forward

It also requires an adapter plate.

The part number.

And you'll end up with this.

The quality is first class, operation is fantastic and I would recommend them.

I second all comments made by Spondon 440, mine was set up for a Pingel petcock from the beginning of the project.

I also cannot reiterate enough the quality and workmanship of the final manta tank produced....Tony has put his heart n soul into the project and embraced any issues/ considerations we encountered on the various trips I made to him during the design and trial fitting process using my S1 frame and original manta tank for reference :yup: :sun:

Hoi,
on the homepage there's several pictures, very beautiful!
you can also see a huge difference between the polished and natural tank (polished images look much better, but it does not need it so when the tank is painted).

If you had one of those works of art would you really want to paint it?

Yeah, paint it and then apply pre-bubbled stickers...

Mine is to be painted, the whole reason for project inception. :yup:

To be able to finally paint my bike one last time in the knowledge that prevention of tank bubbling and further repainting due to this makes me feel :sun:

:yt:

Why wouldn't you paint them?

It might look great if tony would make an S1 tail unit, fairing and mudgaurd, if he did that I might build another bike to put it on. ;)

Am I the only one that doesn't like the visible weld?
I can see that it's done very tidily, but it spoils the overall look, to my eyes.
I don't know anything about welding, but is it possible to have it rubbed smooth, or for it not to be visible in the first place?
