Nope, there's a pic of the crash on my facebook timeline and that's it. Other than the pile of broken bits I've got.

Good job I made the bodywork, the only piece to survive was the front mudguard :(

Started on a new hobby while I was laid up, not sure quite why???
I decided I fancied an air rifle, not had one since I was a kid.
Because of all the nitrous bottles and gear I've got knocking about, plus the experience of messing about with a refrigerated compressed gas/liquid, I got myself a cheap CO2 powered rifle. Soon had it pulled apart, fettled and back together working a bit better.
Then my son said he'd like one and while looking for something for him I stumbled across a picture of an early 1900's Lincoln Jeffries air rifle and it was love at first sight :D A weird looking thing, sort of reminiscent of an old musket??? When I found out they could be reasonably affordable considering their age and they were made in birmingham by BSA I had to have one. This is what I managed to get for myself. 1910 BSA improved model D in .177

It shoots lovely, it's in incredible condition at over 100 years old, certainly better than me at half that :rotfl:
Unfortunately it lead to a new disease, collectors fever. I now have an uncontrollable need to collect any air rifle made in brum that is older than me. My collection has grown with the addition of a little Cadet -circa 1950- and a cadet major- 1957- The cadet has already been apart and refinished, all the metalwork being re blued.
All in all quite a relaxing hobby, that requires no heavy lifting :D And it's incredibly relaxing putting holes in a piece of paper especially shooting something with so much history.
If anyone has old air guns in the attic that need removing/rehoming give me a shout. :coat:

No doubt that you have probably tried Nitrox instead of CO2? Hmmm

No difference in pressure and nitrous costs £7.50 per lb , CO2 is almost free in an old fire extinguisher :D

I have progressed to experimenting with high pressure air, which is how all the top line air rifles run now a days. But it's all too smooth and clinical

I like the old stuff, with springs and pistons 8-)
A bit like bikes, 4 cyls smooth and boring... just 2 of em and you feel what's going on.
