Am I right in thinking that any XB12 pre 2008 headers will fit my XB12XT, as long as I fit the earlier silencer to accompany the headers,
I am looking for a power increase to try and make it a little more torquey like my earlier XB12X, at present it has the standard headers and silencer.
If I do fit the earlier pipes can anyone tell me if they do make a difference? Or do I just go for an after market silencer for the standard headers?

Dunno, not ridden it... But they will...

See if you can find US and UK specs for XBs in 2008/9/10 and you will see that (IIRC) the US bikes are about 5hp up on the UK bikes...
