"but these injectors are world wide problem, as we get about 2 request a month from all continents off the world for these injectors..
there are non .. and HD is not comming trough with there estimated delivery dates as the date keeps shifting..
we have tried to find replacements for these, but we can not find any decent ones with the same flow rate"

Can someone tell me what is so special about Harley injectors that there is a world wide problem? Gosh! Could someone tell me what is the flow rate of the injectors for my X1?

They don´t look anything special to me :?

Cheers,
Mick.

The XB ones are 'directioned'

What are you short of? Will a secondhand one do? I can send it to the injector cleaner man if you want...

Hi Pash,
What do you mean "directioned"?
I have an X1 not an XB.
I was after a spare set of injectors, I want to put the new set in, and get the old ones cleaned.
I can get them cleaned here.

The above quore is the repy I got from the people who keep Buell alive.
They took my money three months ago.
I can't beieve these injectors are so special.

I'd like to know the flow rate, as I'sure a specialist would have them on the shelf.

Cheers.

I always thought they were US Ford injectors however I asked a UK injector specialist for info on them:

those injectors are made by Sagem, nasty little disc injectors, there is no flow rate for those available and when you check on the net you get varying 120 -295cc figures.
they are fitted to Puegeot Citroen same injector, they have a horrible habit of partially burning on the solonoids which causes them to stop working at various ecu driving loads.

If you get them cleaned, you will find out the flow rate when they test them.

Citroen, Peugeot or Renault hasn't even had a presence in the USA for 20 years or so. Given this info, I'm not sure why Erik sourced an injector made for these autos. Fat chance of any parts place in the USA getting a hold of these.

Then again, if they are made for a Ford Mustang, we are unlikely to see then in Europe. Think the guy was saying that type of injector is used on those vehicles, not necessarily the identical part.

But with a bit if common sense, one can assume (for the same fuel pressure) injectors for a 2.4 litre 4 cylinder, or 3.6 litre 6 cylinder or 4.8 litre 8 cylinder engine, that revs to 7k will do...

Doesn't matter if they are a little oversized as the AFV will take care of it.

Any chance of some digging at auto stores at your end Bob?

Been meaning to remove one and take it with me. Rather than mess with the Buell, I opted to get my FXDX back on the road after sitting in a dark garage corner for the past 12 years. My neighbors hate me again.

Only one way to find out...

But to be fair, maybe they don't have an alternative supplier.

Do you want me to send you an injector to test?

Thanks Pash, but I have the one brand new one they sent me.

They say they have looked for decent alternatives, but couldn´t find one with sufficient flow.
I´m sure Harley ones are probably not that decent quality anyway.

The nice fellow at Fuel Performance has these, but I don´t know if they would be suitable.
http://www.fuelperformance.co.uk/index. ... 367_84_127

I would drop him a line, as I bet he could get them (He´s had some Buell pressure regulators made)
But the Cloggies have my cash :x

It´s not the end of the world, as the bike is running O.K. I just wanted to pop some new ones in, and get the old ones cleaned and keep them as spares.
But I´m curious as to alternatives now, and I hate being bullshitted.

So I´m told that the 99 Buell had Bosch injectors. Number 0 280 156 066

Flow at 3 bar/min N-Heptane 186.7g

Resistance 12.0 Ohm

Does that sound right? I can get them for 96€ each plus taxes.
