Thanks for the welcome and the info, as I say at the moment I'm still undecided about selling the Rod it's just so nice and comfortable over a long trip like the one coming up to Spain in September, and it will cover some ground in a short time if you have a mine to get a move on, so to speak. On the downside it's a bloody alcoholic when it comes to the octane beverage.!!!

I suppose the SCG really takes my fancy being quite small and compact, and me being somewhat vertically challenged it would probably suit me better, that's another feature on the Rod I can sit on it and plant both feet on the floor. I'm checking the online ads regularly to see what's about, and from time to time one or two low mileage Buells are for sale even the early model S1.

I've had loads of bikes over the years and most of them for me meant one foot only down which is o.k. if your use to it. But it's more reassuring to have both down and the V-rod for me is perfect on that score, and it's got a low center of gravity with the fuel tank under the seat and at 290kgs thats important when your getting on a bit as I am.!!!

Welcome, it's great that so many people are getting to want Buells now. Unfortunately whilst many were ignorant of what they were missing, our German friends have been hoovering up the used market. There are still some out there but nowhere near as many as there should be in UK.
I have an S1w, X1 and 1125CR. All very different and fun. The 1125 is a very underrated bike, I have often considered selling it until I ride it again and realise just what I have; it's like a drug habit I have to keep feeding. It took me to a great weekend in Belgium recently with a great bunch of fellow Buellers and ex Buellers and you'll be pushed to find a better bike and community to enjoy it with.

You can actually get to and fix things (If you want to, or have to) on a Tuber Buell....

You have to dismantle half the bike to get to the spark plugs on a Fuel in the frame Buell....

.....and they're the Bic razor of the bike world ie. if anything goes wrong with the engine/gearbox that you cant fix yourself or frame damage etc. then the bike is a skip job

Yes know the St Agnes area well, in fact have a few customers in the area.

I have taken in your point mentioned above about the tuber being easier to get at if something goes wrong, I always carry out my own servicing/repairs where I can and which doesn't call for specialist tools etc. So worth considering, although the fuel in the frame does appeal a bit more, being a bit more up to date, and as I previously mentioned the compact size of the XB SCG which would suit me better is probably what I would be looking for.
