Nice one Mark,

If you need a crate building I'm sure that I can get that sorted this end for you.
I have a 2000 x 600mm base and transport pallet (same size) at home, left over from the delivery of a bike lift, which came on a fork lift. You have 8 sheets of 2400 x 1200 mm shuttering ply (18mm) that were used to protect your drive during garage construction plus timber left over. My spare tie down straps I can miss for 2 years, for a pint or two lOl

So a box of screws, and a bit of help from the good guys this end should get it sorted.

You guys aren't just being gracious and helpful with the crating. Admit it, you really just want to give the bike a good thrashing before it's sent off.

Thanks for the offers of help guys. I think the shipping company take care of the crating. The only help I may need is getting it out of its current parking spot, it's a bit tight in there :P

Bonzo, Good to hear you arranged the shipping, hope all goes well. I'm only just back in time for Christmas, so at least I don't have to be clearing a place in the garage right now! I will see what the New Year brings but may be looking out to for a second Buell to join the XB.

I remember this bike when martin (prozac) had it, and I followed it all the way from brum to maz's place for some work one weekend, lovely thing, glad you're keeping it now, if I was after a tuber, that's the kind of bike I'd be interested in.

It wasn't so much having a chat with myself, I just didn't think I'd get permission to bring it over here, and I didn't want 2 bikes left rotting in the UK. These things get complicated when you move from one country to another, neither of which you are a national of, and the bike is coming from a different country :P

I've had British customs scratching their heads over the Enfield. It's entering the UK from Qatar, but without any other luggage, and the owner isn't in the country either. They've finally agreed to let it in, but I've had to send explanations, copies of Qatar contracts etc etc. I've had a similar saga with Oz customs regarding the S1, and the bike hasn't even left the UK yet.

In the eyes of the bureaucrats, they're motorsickles... and they're very dangerous... as are the owners... lOl

But still not as dangerous as the snakes, spiders and even the roos in Oz. But they don't want you to know that.
