Seems to have become quite a tradition to stop over for the night after the Birthday BBQ and we've had some great nights out. The first year we organised camping in a pub garden but it was a bit nippy and most people opted to stay in hotels.

I don't really know Bury St Edmunds too well but the centre of town is quite picturesque and seems to have quite a bit going on in terms of pubs and restaurants so could be entertaining for a night out.

As usual CJ has astutely found a good value hotel in "The Quality Hotel" :D Another option is the "Best Western Priory Hotel" http://www.bestwestern.co.uk/hotels/priory-hotel-bury-st-edmunds-83266/hotel-info/default.aspx which is just down the road from Krazy Horse, apparently a 15 minute walk from the centre and has a bar where I once had a late night drink as a guest of a colleague who stayed there after Krazy Horse's TT Night 8-)

If people prefer we can always stay in Newmarket again which is only a 15 minute ride away but I'm up for giving other Suffolk residents the visual and aural stimulation of a bunch of Buells and their owners.

Steve

I stayed in Bury a couple of weeks ago here: http://www.83whitingstreetbandb.co.uk it's a 100 yards away from Wetherspoons which is part of the Old Corn Exchange right in the Town Centre.
He offered us gated parking opposite which wasn't advertised as well.
The Breakfast was very good and so was the room.
Apart from Wetherspoons there wasn't that many places to drink in the Town Centre but as it turned out it was the most popular and of course being Wetherspoons was very cheap
The Building is also quite a nice building and pictures can be found on there website.

Just a suggestion for you all to bear in mind :D

It's cheap(ish) and cheerful - just like us :D.....

We stayed there last year when Krazy Horse had their EBR test ride day and we thought it was spot on. They have great food and are very biker friendly, with bike parking near to reception.

Reckon I will be staying overnight. Still to check the dates don't clash with anything else though.
